ALDI employees in Burgh-Haamstede discover gecko among the bananas

Employees at an ALDI store in Burgh-Haamstede discovered a rare gecko in a box of bananas. The cold-blooded reptile was found undercooled and was taken care of by the local animal ambulance. After warming up, the gecko showed signs of life. This species is only a few centimeters long, making it the smallest animal the ambulance has ever rescued. Iguana, a rescue center in Vlissingen, has offered to take in the gecko.
