The new director of the Újszínház and the Madách Színház has been appointed

The first theater director applications under the Tisza government have concluded successfully, with Csiby Gergely appointed to lead Újszínház and Szabó P. Szilveszter to head Madách Színház. The applications were announced on July 31 for positions covering the period from January 31, 2027, to January 31, 2032. A total of seven applications were submitted for the Madách Színház director position and sixteen for Újszínház. The selection process included competency assessments and interviews. Previous candidates for Újszínház included Dörner György and others, while Szirtes Tamás and several others applied for Madách Színház.
