Balog Zoltán has a successor at the helm of the Dunamellék Reformed Church District

Nyilas Zoltán András has been elected as the new bishop of the Dunamelléki Reformed Church District, succeeding Balog Zoltán. Balog resigned from the synod presidency amid a scandal but retains his bishop title. In the election, Nyilas received 172 out of 292 valid votes, while his opponent, Lovas András, received 120 votes. Szathmáry Gergely Zoltán was elected as the chief elder with 164 votes. Nyilas, born in 1975, has served in various pastoral roles since completing his theological studies. The Reformed Church is undergoing leadership changes across all districts, with new officials serving six-year terms. Balog's leadership has been criticized for diminishing the church's credibility and distancing it from Western Protestantism.
