There was supposed to be a breakthrough in the case of Sunday trading. The meeting was suddenly canceled.

A joint meeting of the Economy and Development Committee and the Social Policy and Family Committee was scheduled for November 6. In June 2024, MP Ryszard Petru proposed changes to Sunday trading laws, allowing two trading Sundays per month with double pay for workers. The bill has been stalled in parliament. Since March 2018, Sunday trading has been restricted, with eight trading Sundays per year starting in 2025. A recent survey shows that over 60% of respondents support increasing the number of trading Sundays, while only 27.5% favor complete deregulation. Opponents argue that even if the bill passes, President Nawrocki may veto it. Additionally, retail agricultural trade may provide a way to bypass the Sunday trading ban.
