Thousands of students protest in Copenhagen
Thousands of Danish students protested outside the Folketing against the government's plans to cut financial aid. Strikes occurred in numerous educational institutions nationwide. The government, led by Mette Frederiksen, aims to eliminate monthly financial aid for students living with parents earning above 710,077 Danish crowns. The reform proposes a progressive reduction of aid for those whose parents earn between 419,589 and 710,077 crowns. The demonstration, attended by over 10,000 students, was peaceful and featured chants supporting the continuation of the SU aid system. The SU amount varies based on living arrangements and has seen reforms over the past two decades.
