Moshtag B. keeps shifting blame for deadly explosion in Tarwekamp

In December 2024, an explosion caused by arson at a bridal shop resulted in six fatalities and five serious injuries in the Mariahoeve neighborhood. The perpetrator, Moshtag B., sought revenge on his ex-partner, whom he believed was unfaithful. Initially intending to steal dresses, B. eventually conspired to set the shop on fire, recruiting accomplices Mourad Ben T., Ilias B., and Adil A. Despite A.'s denial of involvement in arson, the court found evidence of B.'s leading role through WhatsApp conversations. On December 7, a car was set ablaze, igniting the shop with gasoline, while illegal fireworks were purchased to alert nearby residents. The trial continues with testimonies from victims and relatives, with a verdict expected in January.
