MP seeks a sentence close to 25 years for the murder of an elderly man
The Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking a prison sentence close to the maximum of 25 years for a couple accused of robbing, kidnapping, and murdering an elderly man. During the trial in Beja, the defense argued that the female defendant was coerced and did not participate in the crimes. The male defendant claimed that his ex-partner was responsible for the violence against the victim. The couple, both 40 years old and in preventive detention, face charges of qualified homicide, robbery, and aggravated kidnapping. The court will announce its decision on November 17.
