The NBP has accumulated 700 tons of gold. "A historic achievement"
During a press conference, Glapiński announced that the National Bank of Poland has achieved its goal of holding 700 tons of gold in reserves. This milestone positions Poland among the top ten countries with the largest gold reserves globally. Since Glapiński's tenure began, the bank's gold reserves have increased nearly sevenfold, totaling 598 tons, valued at 355.7 billion PLN. The unrealized profit from gold amounts to 140.5 billion PLN, reflecting the difference between purchase and current market prices. Glapiński emphasized that gold enhances Poland's credibility and resilience against international market fluctuations.
