Panyi Szabolcs journalist awarded an international prize
Panyi Szabolcs will receive the 2026 Magnitsky Human Rights Award for outstanding journalism, as announced on his social media. This international award, established in 2015, honors journalists, politicians, and activists who combat corruption and human rights abuses. Previous recipients include notable figures like John McCain and Jamal Khashoggi. The award is named after Sergei Magnitsky, a Russian lawyer who died in prison after exposing corruption involving state officials. His death symbolizes the abuses of the Putin regime and led to the creation of laws allowing sanctions against human rights violators. Panyi will accept the award next week in London from journalist Catherine Belton.
