Worrying data from the energy exchange. Electricity and gas are the most expensive in over three years
The Towarowa Giełda Energii reported significant increases in electricity and gas prices in Poland for October, attributed to rising gas prices and CO2 emission allowances. Despite these increases, household energy bills may not rise immediately due to advance purchasing by energy sellers and regulatory approvals. Electricity trading volume rose by 19.3% year-on-year, with average spot prices reaching 751.71 PLN/MWh. Gas trading volume decreased by 58.2%, but spot prices increased to 408.58 PLN/MWh. In contrast, green certificate prices fell to 24.89 PLN/MWh, with trading volumes also declining significantly.
