Norris takes pole in soaking wet qualifying for the São Paulo GP, Verstappen exits after Q1
The qualifying session faced a rain delay shortly after starting, lasting nearly an hour and a half. Once resumed, the wet conditions led to several drivers losing control, including Bortoleto, Lindblad, and Camara. Verstappen participated only in Q1 due to a grid penalty from a motor change, while Norris secured pole position with a time of 1:27.470. Russell and Antonelli followed in second and third, respectively. Leclerc faced a ten-place grid penalty, finishing fourth, while Lawson impressed in fifth. The top ten was rounded out by Hülkenberg, Hadjar, Bearman, Alonso, and Albon.
