New local fee from 2027. More than 1600 municipalities can introduce it

Starting January 1, 2027, municipalities in Poland may implement a local fee based on new regulations currently under review. The maximum fee is set at 5 PLN and can be charged if the area has certain attractions like forests or historical sites. This could affect 1,623 municipalities with tourist accommodations, expanding beyond the current 206 that charge such fees. In Suwałki, hotel owners oppose the fee, fearing it may drive tourists to neighboring areas. Meanwhile, consultations are underway in Kraków, which saw nearly 8.79 million tourists in 2025.
