Paulo Fonseca returns to Portugal as the new coach of Sporting, succeeding Rui Borges. After a decade abroad, he leaves Lyon, where he had a successful run. Fonseca has previously coached in Ukraine, Italy, and France, winning multiple titles. His first coaching role was with Estrela da Amadora's U19 team, and he later managed teams like Paços de Ferreira and SC Braga. At Sporting, he faces the challenge of closing a nine-point gap with league leaders FC Porto. Fonseca will be officially presented at Estádio de Alvalade.
