He will visit 3 countries in 11 days. Leon XIV embarked on a unique journey
Pope Leo XIV's pilgrimage begins in Uruguay, the most secular country in South America, where half the population identifies with no religion. He will address the secular nature of the state and encourage rediscovery of Christian values. Following Uruguay, he will visit Argentina, symbolizing the end of a 39-year wait for a papal visit, and will meet with President Javier Milei. The final stop is Peru, where he spent over 20 years as a missionary. He will hold a mass in Chiclayo and meet with victims of abuse in Argentina and Peru. Around 80 media representatives will accompany him during the trip.
