OE2027: Parties have already submitted more than 2,500 amendment proposals

Political parties have submitted over 2500 amendments to the 2027 State Budget, setting a new record. The deadline for submissions was November 6, 2023. As of 6:10 PM, 2502 proposals were recorded, surpassing last year's total of 2176. The proposals include various initiatives from different parties, with the PSD/CDS-PP submitting 76, Chega 564, PS 187, and others. The deadline was extended due to ongoing hearings with the Minister of Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, who noted the challenges of accommodating fiscal proposals without disrupting budget balance. The government anticipates a balanced budget this year and a slight surplus in 2027.
