Oeste competes for one of the six major business parks

The Oeste Intermunicipal Community is applying to host one of six major business parks planned by the government, located at Outeiro da Cabeça, where four municipalities converge. This site offers excellent accessibility, being near the A8 motorway and railway lines, and close to two ports. The proposal will be submitted to the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission for selection. The business park aims to enhance the region's economy by retaining value-added activities and fostering intermunicipal cooperation. The Oeste region is projected to have a population of 153,000 by 2025 and currently hosts 21,000 companies generating €6.5 billion in revenue.
