Oil leaked from a Croatian oil pipeline

A section of the Croatian oil pipeline operated by Janaf was damaged between Sisak and Slavonski Brod. The leak has been contained, and there is no threat to the public or drinking water supply. The damage occurred during maintenance when a falling part from machinery struck the pipeline, causing a small amount of oil to spill into an excavated trench. The company quickly notified authorities and deployed cleanup teams to the site. The smell of oil is only noticeable in the immediate area and will diminish as cleanup progresses. Janaf plays a crucial role in supplying refineries in Croatia and neighboring countries, including the Hungarian MOL Group.
