The opposition failed with the proposal to remove Okamura from the head of the chamber
The opposition in the Czech Parliament failed for the third time to add a proposal to dismiss SPD leader Tomio Okamura from his position. They criticized his handling of the controversial cancellation of broadcasting fees. The proposal, presented by TOP 09 leader Jan Jakob, was vetoed by the coalition factions. Jakob stated that Okamura failed to uphold the trust in parliamentary rules. Previous attempts to dismiss Okamura were also unsuccessful, primarily due to his statements in a New Year's speech. Okamura did not respond to the criticisms, claiming that he would not engage with the opposition's attacks.
