Father suspected of 864 crimes of sexual abuse of daughter remains in preventive detention

A man, 35, is in preventive detention for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter since she was six or seven years old. He faces charges of at least 864 aggravated sexual abuse crimes and over 7,000 aggravated child pornography crimes. His arrest occurred on November 3, initiated by the Judicial Police in Évora. The court deemed him a danger to society and prohibited contact with the victim and her family. The abuses reportedly took place at their home in Portel since 2019. Evidence suggests he filmed and shared explicit content involving his daughter online. Electronic devices containing thousands of inappropriate images were seized during his arrest. The investigation continues under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
