Pope Leo XIV arrived in Uruguay

Pope Leo XIV has arrived in Montevideo, Uruguay, marking the start of a 12-day tour across South America. He feels "reasonably fit" after recent lung cancer surgery. The Pope will visit 11 cities in Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, making this his longest foreign trip to date. In Uruguay, he will celebrate a mass, meet with a local community focused on social welfare, and visit the Catholic University of Uruguay. His itinerary remains largely unchanged despite his surgery, including a planned visit to the Andes at 3,700 meters. He is expected back in Rome on November 17.
