Pellet is getting cheaper in bulk, but what about retail prices? The minister clears up doubts
The head of the Ministry of Climate and Environment noted an increase in pellet imports to Poland, leading to a drop in wholesale prices. She expects retail prices to follow suit, warning of potential price-fixing if they do not. The UOKiK previously stated that rising demand for pellet stoves is driving price increases, as supply struggles to keep up. Currently, around 450,000 households in Poland use pellet stoves, with significant growth in recent years. The UOKiK highlighted systemic issues affecting pellet supply, particularly the lag in domestic production. The average retail price of pellets now exceeds 2,000 PLN per ton.
