PJ detains group suspected of introducing drugs into prison
The Judicial Police arrested a group of five individuals, including four men and one woman, suspected of smuggling drugs into Vale do Sousa Prison. The operation, conducted by the Northern Directorate, followed an investigation that began in May after a woman was caught delivering drugs to her incarcerated partner. Evidence collected indicated an organized group involved in the introduction and distribution of psychotropic substances within the prison. During the operation, police seized synthetic cannabinoid-laced paper, known for its hallucinogenic effects, commonly used by inmates. The detainees will face judicial interrogation for coercive measures.
