Half of farmers rate this year as one of the worst, cutting back on investments

According to a survey by the Czech Agrarian Chamber, nearly half of farmers consider this year one of the worst in their history, with significant losses expected due to low prices and rising costs. Almost 79% of businesses plan to cut investments, and total losses in agriculture could reach at least 25.6 billion crowns. Farmers are limiting essential practices like fertilization and pest control, which may lead to lower yields in the future. The main issues identified include low commodity prices and adverse weather conditions. The government has approved financial aid to help mitigate the crisis, including early direct payments to farmers.
