Portugal and six countries call for simultaneous protests
Tenant unions and collectives from seven European countries, including Portugal, have called for simultaneous protests on November 20, 21, and 22 in Paris. The main focus is to combat the rising cost of living, with three key demands: housing price control, increased wages and pensions, and a halt to military escalation in Europe. The meeting was organized by the Spanish Confederation of Tenant Unions and included various labor and student movements from Belgium, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, and the UK. Although Portugal was not officially represented, local groups participated. The joint declaration highlights the unaffordability of housing and rising costs of basic necessities, urging for universal public services and a tax on the wealthy.
