Asylum rights suspended for longer. There is a decision

The Polish Parliament approved an extension of the temporary suspension of the right to apply for international protection at the border with Belarus for another 60 days. This decision, supported by 425 votes, cites ongoing security threats and incidents involving aggressive foreign nationals. The government argues that the situation has not improved, with Belarusian authorities allegedly involved in attacks on Polish border guards. Since the suspension began, 496 applications have been rejected, although some vulnerable groups are still allowed to apply. Social organizations oppose these restrictions, claiming they violate the Polish Constitution and international refugee conventions.
