Educational program against poverty supports 69 children

The Proinfância program in Leiria supported 69 children from 33 families during the 2025/2026 school year, focusing on educational and therapeutic assistance. This initiative aims to combat poverty and social exclusion, celebrating its second anniversary in collaboration with the "la Caixa" Foundation. The program provided various supports, including psychological and speech therapy, to ensure equal opportunities for children from diverse backgrounds. The municipality emphasizes the importance of tailored support to prevent inequality and improve family autonomy. Proinfância has been operational since 2024, aiming to break the cycle of child poverty through integrated social, educational, and health responses.
