Breakthrough in Puźniki. Another stage of the search for Polish victims of the UPA in Ukraine begins
The Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance announced that searches for the remains of Polish villagers killed in February 1945 will take place from November 4 to 10. The archaeological work will be conducted by the Volyn Antiquities firm with Polish specialists from the Pomeranian Medical University and representatives from the Freedom and Democracy Foundation and the Polish National Memory Institute. The village of Puźniki, located in the Ternopil region, was home to a Polish community before being attacked by Ukrainian nationalists, resulting in the deaths of many residents. Previous searches have not yielded results, and this operation aims to locate burial sites for approximately 40 individuals. The Polish Ministry of Culture confirmed the continuation of these efforts, which are funded by the ministry.
