Inmates work freely on the construction of a nativity scene

Since 2015, inmates from Braga Prison have been working in an open regime on the construction of the Live Nativity Scene in Priscos, a project aimed at reintegration. They earn €3.10 per hour and receive meals provided by the local parish. Over 80 inmates have participated without any incidents, demonstrating the effectiveness of trust and work in reducing recidivism. The project, which combines faith, culture, and solidarity, was established through an agreement between the DGRSP and the local parish. Inmates learn various trades and receive humanistic training to prepare for reintegration into society. The Live Nativity Scene opens on December 13, featuring around 600 participants.
