Authorities seized nearly 60,000 scooters. Cash was found in the freezer
Over 150 officers from CBŚP and the Customs and Tax Service dismantled an international criminal group selling e-scooters without paying VAT, causing a loss of at least 162 million PLN to the state. The coordinated operation took place in Piaseczno and Mińsk counties, resulting in the arrest of 16 individuals, including citizens from Poland, China, and Belarus. Eight suspects are in temporary detention facing charges of organized crime, money laundering, and tax offenses. During searches, police dog Hera helped uncover hidden cash, totaling over 7 million PLN and luxury cars. The group operated on a massive scale, with 57,000 e-scooters worth nearly 156 million PLN seized, along with solar panel electronics and accounting documents. Further arrests are possible, and the scooters may be auctioned after modifications due to safety non-compliance.
