Sardine. 1000 tons less fishing, but more revenue
The Secretary of State for Fisheries reported a decrease of 1,000 tons in sardine catches compared to last year, yet revenue increased by 20 million euros. This reduction aims to ensure sustainable fishing in the future. New daily catch limits for sardines were implemented at the end of October, with specific quotas based on the size of the fishing vessels. Smaller boats are limited to 2,250 kg, while larger vessels have higher quotas. The final vote on the 2027 State Budget is scheduled for November 24.
