Spinumviva. Montenegro loses resources in the TC
The Constitutional Court rejected appeals by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro regarding public access to information about the company Spinumviva. Montenegro sought to prevent the Transparency Entity from disclosing client details and bank account balances, citing privacy concerns. The court's decision, made on November 3, did not address the substantive legal questions raised, focusing instead on procedural issues. Montenegro's office confirmed receipt of the court's notification and expressed disappointment over the ongoing uncertainty regarding political transparency obligations. Earlier, Montenegro had preemptively released Spinumviva's client list, criticizing bureaucratic delays from the Transparency Entity. The court's ruling also dismissed two additional appeals from Montenegro, which aimed for a broader interpretation of the law affecting political officeholders.
