Suspects of facilitating cocaine trafficking arrested
The Judicial Police arrested four individuals suspected of being part of a criminal cell operating at Lisbon Airport, facilitating cocaine trafficking from South America. This operation followed a two-month investigation by the National Unit for Combating Drug Trafficking, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 117 kilograms of cocaine, three vehicles, and around 40,000 euros in cash. The detainees have been placed in preventive custody after their initial court hearing. The investigation continues to uncover the extent of the criminal network and identify additional participants, with the case being overseen by the Lisbon Department of Investigation and Criminal Action.
