Social consultation begins, everyone can express their thoughts on the new law enforcement package
The Hungarian government is initiating public consultation on a proposed law package regarding law enforcement before presenting it to Parliament. Interior Minister Gábor Pósfai announced that the government is seeking suggestions until November 12. The proposals aim to reform police duties, service conditions, and disaster management operations. Changes include reducing leadership levels in firefighting, enhancing public preparedness, and reintegrating fire safety tasks into the National Firefighter and Civil Protection Headquarters. The plan also aims to relieve police workload by involving the military in facility security and expanding local government cooperation. Additionally, it proposes faster judicial processes for traffic offenses and adjustments to leave policies for law enforcement personnel.
