Land of the old Stadium in Porto will be for housing
The Minister of Housing announced plans to engage with the Porto City Council regarding the former Salgueiros Stadium site for housing development. Emídio Gomes, president of Metro do Porto, has been tasked to initiate discussions with the council, following expressed interest from Mayor Pedro Duarte. The site has been underutilized, and the minister emphasized the intention to allocate it for housing purposes. Recently, demolition works began on the remaining structures of the old stadium, which had been the home of Salgueiros since 1932 until its demolition in 2006.
