Tours: investigation opened after a TikToker's eye injury during a protest

The Tours prosecutor's office has opened an investigation following a complaint from a young TikToker who claims he was injured in the eye by a police grenade during a protest. Enzo Gimgembre, 22, reported that he was filming the demonstration when a grenade was thrown in his direction, causing him to collapse and sustain an eye injury. He was treated by street medics and later went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a vision impairment. Gimgembre expressed frustration over initial refusals by police to take his complaint. The incident follows another case where a teenager was severely injured during a protest, leading to multiple investigations into police actions during recent demonstrations.
