A Romanian truck driver crafted a fake license plate for himself, but the police spotted it.

Police encountered an unusual license plate forgery on the M4 highway, where a truck driver altered his vehicle's registration using cut characters from another plate. The patrol noticed the odd license plate and pulled the truck over for inspection. It was revealed that digits from a different plate were affixed to the original, secured with screws. The 33-year-old Romanian driver was taken to the Berettyóújfalu Police Department, facing charges for misuse of a unique identifier. This is not the first instance of creative attempts to evade license plate checks, as previously reported by HVG about a truck with a retractable mechanism to hide its plate from cameras, aimed at avoiding toll payments. License plate forgery is a serious offense, potentially punishable by up to three years in prison.
