Two capybara babies born in Planckendael: "They are 2 small, curious cuties"

Two capybara babies have been born at Planckendael in Mechelen, and they are currently taking their first steps. Visitors will be able to see them outside starting next week. The babies are curious and enjoy exploring their surroundings, often climbing on their mother, who serves as a perfect climbing structure. The mother, Janne, was pregnant after mating with a new male, Egon. Typically, capybaras can have between one and eight offspring, but this litter of two is considered small. The babies do not yet have names as their sex is difficult to determine. Capybaras have gained popularity among children and young people due to their relaxed nature and social behavior.
