The government has prepared another child protection report
The Ministry of Social Affairs and Family has released its first report on abuse in child protection institutions, highlighting severe issues in the system. A previous report titled "Diagnosis" revealed a deteriorating situation for children in state care over the past 16 years, including hunger, substance abuse, and a lack of professionals. The government has announced a crisis program worth 10 billion HUF. The ministry's investigation involved reviewing institutional regulations and statistics, as well as conducting on-site visits to speak with children and staff. The report aims to understand how abuse occurs in protective institutions and proposes a package of recommendations for professional training and new procedures to enhance child safety.
