Ukraine to resume medical air evacuation flights by year-end, PM says

Ukraine plans to resume medical evacuations via aircraft operated by the State Emergency Service, significantly shortening travel times for patients. Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi announced this on Nov. 6, noting that the initiative aims to reduce the journey from Kharkiv to Rzeszow from 15-16 hours to just two to three hours. The new system will facilitate the transport of patients, medical staff, and donor organs, and will also support the Medevac Ukraine program, which offers free medical treatment abroad for war-affected Ukrainians. The Health Ministry will coordinate these flights, while the military has already begun aerial evacuations on the front lines despite ongoing risks.
