ULS de Coimbra launches competition for new maternity hospital

The Local Health Unit of Coimbra has announced a public tender for the construction of a new maternity hospital, consolidating two existing facilities with an investment of nearly 58 million euros. The project has faced delays, with previous expectations for its launch in 2024. The tender has a base price of 57.942 million euros, excluding VAT, and a completion timeline of three years. Funding for the project is allocated across several years, with specific amounts set for 2026 through 2029. Proposals for the construction must be submitted by December 15.
