USA close to record. Europe increases supplies ahead of winter

Data from LSEG indicates that LNG deliveries to Europe increased to 6.89 million tons in October, up from 5.91 million tons in September. This rise is attributed to winter preparations and a reduced price gap between Europe and Asia. The average prices for European and Asian LNG benchmarks were around $28 per million British thermal units, marking a significant increase since the energy crisis following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Exports from the Golden Pass LNG terminal in Texas doubled to four shipments in October. The EU allocated approximately €281 billion for LNG purchases from 2022 to 2025, with €131.5 billion going to U.S. suppliers. Meanwhile, LNG imports from the U.S. to Asia remained stable at 2.73 million tons in October.
