A new Hungarian Theatre Festival will be launched in 2027 in Miskolc, aiming to unite Hungarian theatre companies from the Carpathian Basin. Cultural Secretary Ervin Nagy emphasized the importance of a cohesive Hungarian theatre culture. The festival seeks to revive the spirit of the previously disrupted Pécsi Országos Színházi Találkozó (POSZT), promoting community engagement among theatre professionals. The Miskolci Nemzeti Színház and the Hungarian Theatre Association have already signed an agreement with the Ministry responsible for Social Relations and Culture. Jordán Tamás has been invited to lead the festival's advisory board, highlighting the need for collaboration within the Hungarian theatre community.
