The honorary citizenship title of György Matolcsy has been revoked

The local council of Kozármisleny has unanimously decided to revoke the honorary citizenship awarded to György Matolcsy 17 years ago. This decision comes amid ongoing legal troubles for Matolcsy, who, along with two others, has been detained in connection with a case involving the Hungarian National Bank. Allegations include attempts to transfer assets from the Optima Investment Fund to a private equity fund linked to Matolcsy's interests. The prosecution claims this transfer could result in significant financial losses exceeding 500 million HUF.
