Dávid Vitézy: We will increase the budget for road renovations fivefold

The renovation of the main road section between Siófok and Zamárdi has begun, with increased funding for road repairs confirmed by Minister Vitézy Dávid. The Hungarian Public Road Company will carry out the work, including resurfacing and road maintenance, while maintaining traffic flow with partial restrictions. Vitézy criticized previous spending on highway concessions, emphasizing the need for safer existing roads. The 2027 budget allocates 100 billion HUF for road repairs, up from 20 billion HUF, and operational costs for the Hungarian Public Road Company will increase by 30 billion HUF next year. Recent government actions include reviewing highway contracts and revoking previous concession decisions.
