Waldemar Żurek calls on judges to pay. The minister demands the return of millions of zlotys
Waldemar Żurek has initiated civil claims against several neo-judges of the Supreme Court, demanding repayment of millions due to rulings leading to compensation by the state. The total amount awarded by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has reached approximately 6.5 million PLN. Żurek emphasized the need for these claims, citing the financial burden on Polish citizens resulting from the judges' participation in proceedings that led to ECHR decisions. He expressed concerns about the potential for further losses as over 1,200 cases involving Polish citizens are currently pending at the ECHR, which may lead to unfavorable outcomes for Poland.
