Higher tax threshold in PIT. The Sejm has made a decision
The Polish Sejm approved a tax reform bill with 236 votes in favor and 207 against, which now moves to the Senate. The reform raises the first income tax threshold from 120,000 to 130,000 PLN while introducing a new 24% rate for incomes between 130,000 and 150,000 PLN. The solidarity tax rate for high earners increases from 4% to 5%. Corporate tax (CIT) for companies earning over 50 million euros will rise to 22%. The bill also lowers the threshold for choosing flat-rate taxation from 2 million euros to 250,000 euros. Several proposed amendments were rejected during the vote, including those aimed at increasing tax thresholds further and eliminating tax increases. The Senate must finalize the bill for it to take effect by January 1, 2027.
