ZUS will waive part of the receivables. The president's signature is in place.

The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy is responsible for a new law that cancels debts owed to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) incurred before January 1, 1999. The law aims to address the inefficiency of debt collection efforts by ZUS, which have high costs and low returns. Approximately 7,100 contributors with debts totaling around 315 million PLN will benefit from this automatic cancellation, which does not require ZUS to issue decisions. The law excludes debts secured by mortgages, affecting about 3,800 contributors. This change is expected to save significant costs associated with debt collection over the next decade.
